Gaylord Opryland's Ice Sculptors Begin Carving This Year's 'Home Alone' Holiday Scenes — Nashville Traveler

Artisans from overseas have arrived at Gaylord Opryland to start hand-carving 6,200 blocks of ice into 11 scenes from 'Home Alone' for the resort's 43rd annual ICE! exhibit, opening November 6.

The carvers work in a chilled exhibit hall kept around 9 degrees, spending roughly 40 days transforming solid ice blocks into detailed, walk-through scenes before the holiday attraction opens to the public.

This year's theme reimagines 'Home Alone' in ice, continuing the resort's long-running holiday tradition that draws visitors from well outside Nashville each winter.
